If you’re planning for a wedding day, we highly recommend packing a Wedding Day Emergency Kit!
The best part? If you’re a Hitch bride, we bring it all for you!
Up first, we’ll take you through all the items to include to prevent any “Wardrobe Malfunctions”:
- Be sure to pack:
- Safety pins
- Sewing kit – We’ve sewn on a button 5 minutes before a ceremony started standing in the dark, hot Campanile in Brookings.
- Tide stick
- Eyelash glue
- Lint roller
- Wrinkle releaser
- Scissors
- Clear nail polish – prevents runs or tears from going any further
- Pins – for boutonnieres or pinning a dress closed.
- Earring backs
- Hem strips – sticky strings that fixes a fallen hem.
- Bobby pins
- Chalk – this is good if there is a stain on your white wedding dress
Next up, we’ll take you through all the items to “Keep You Looking/Feeling Your Best”:
- Brush
- Mirror
- Hairspray
- Breathmints
- Dry shampoo
- Hair ties – during the dance, some girls want their hair up
- Perfume
- Eye drops
- Lotion
- Deoderant
- Makeup applicators
- Nail clipper
- Tweezers
- Toothbrush
- Flossers
- Razor
- Lip balm
- Gum
- Breath mint strips
- (You could practically live out of this bag)
Finally, we’ll take you through all the items for the “Just in Case” scenario:
- Umbrella – just in case it’s raining
- Cork screw – just in case you can’t get your Mimosa bottles open.
- Water
- Wipes
- Snacks
- Notebook/pen – just this summer, I had to run get the bride’s vow book in the middle of the ceremony, so you never know.
- Tissues
- Sunblock
- Aspirin
- Cotton balls/Q-tips
- Tape
- Ribbon – for retying bouquets
- Ziplock bags
- Wet wipes
- Feminine products
- First aid kit – we’ve needed that a couple of times.
- Antacids
- Phone charger cord
- Hand sanitizer
- Super glue
- Cough drops
- Bug spray
We hope this helped you plan for anything that may come up on your wedding day!
If you hire Hitch, we bring this full kit for you, but if not, what a great gift idea for a bride or groom!
BONUS TIP: If you get lipstick, wine, food, or another stain on your wedding dress, gently blot it with a damp, soft cloth. Don’t rub. I would not recommend using a stain stick on your fabric. Just cover the stain with chalk and have your photographer Photoshop it out of any photos. Then have a dry cleaner work their magic to get it out for good.
