About Natalie:
I grew up in a small town outside of Brookings and attended South Dakota State University, earning my bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management with minors in Events, Business, and Dance. Throughout college I knew school was not the only place I was going to learn, so I picked up as many part-time jobs as I could handle, in the hopes of gaining as much knowledge as I could to benefit my career and by being a well-rounded individual with many life skills. I’ve developed a strong work ethic and a have a passion for what I do! Since graduating in 2016, I’ve been in the professional events industry, my focus being on meetings, banquets, and weddings.
Event planning involves long hours, dedication, details, high energy, and I love it all! Ever since planning my own birthday parties growing up, I’ve loved all the details that go into an event; big and small. Being in the events industry, I’ve had the opportunity to work with many people and experience different types of events; each having its specific purpose. Right away, I realized that weddings were what I really enjoyed because of the personal connections and getting to know each couple, their parents, friends, and families. I like hearing about the visions and ideas for their day and then bringing their dreams to life!
In my free time I’ll be trying to accomplish all the things around the house or fully embracing the moments with my family; I go in phases of super productivity to total relaxation, and I love both. I am thankful for my husband Justin, and his “go-with-the-flow” attitude because I am often rearranging and organizing the house, always finding things to do! Our daughter Thora and son Declan are three years apart and are the best of friends already. They keep the laughter in our home and have expanded our hearts to a level we didn’t know was possible. Besides being a busy mom, I enjoy a morning cup of hot coffee (every morning!), yoga and doing anything outdoors (when weather allows!).
Five fun facts:
- I can juggle and ride a unicycle.
- I am the middle child of 11 children.
- I was in dance for 18 years, and taught 1st-5th grades throughout college.
- I love listening to audio books and podcasts in the self-development category.
- Not a chocolate lover but give me some gummy worms, Swedish fish, Starbursts, Skittles or Sour Patch Kids and I’ll be one happy camper!
