The Hunt for Happily Ever After

Kennedi + Tanner are just two, down-to-earth people who love nothing more than a cool weekend in the trees hunting together. When they got engaged, it only made sense that their wedding theme would include subtle hints at their favorite hobby!

Kennedi and Tanner both got to enjoy the morning getting ready with her best friends, while the Hitch team got to work sorting antlers, vases, and flowers to decorate the reception. Although Hitch owns a few dozen antlers, our collection just would not make the impact we hoped for at this rustic wedding. We relied on the help of Kennedi +Tanner’s amazing families to bring their antler sheds for us to incorporate into every centerpiece. It truly made all the difference! We loved the rustic + romantic appearance this gave to each table, and it felt even more special knowing these were sheds that the couple had collected together.

We often get asked if couples are allowed to bring in their own personal pieces of decoration, and our answer will always be YES! We will set those items out on your wedding day, then re-pack them again at the end of the night for you to take back home. No fees, worry, or hassle.

These two also wanted their color palette to match the atmosphere of a crisp fall, which is, of course, hunting season! There were various greens, mixed in with some prairie grasses, beige and brown florals, and a – fan favorite – terracotta/rust tones. Tied together perfectly, the colors made a warm, welcoming, at-home feel for their rural guests to come and celebrate. We even had some stone and marble incorporated to really bring a natural, earthy tone to this event.

The couple even created custom meal tokens for each guest to help the catering staff determine which meal they chose. It was so cute and so creative! Did you notice the colors of the tokens even matched the wedding colors? Hitch brought along 3 trays and displayed these tokens for easy distributing during social hour.

Serving beef and chicken paired with delicious sides, Maverick’s Catering at The Dakota Event Center hit it out of the park with the evening meal.

How do you share a love so sweet? By gifting honey to your guests, of course! Mini jars of local honey with mini honey dippers attached. We love a wedding favor that your guests can eat or use once, because the leftover favors are much more manageable for the family after the wedding! They are easy to gift at other occasions later in the year, like the holidays or birthdays!

Kennedi + Tanner, we loved planning and decorating for your beautiful day, meeting your adorable daughter, and getting to know your family so well. We wish you all the best as you continue growing your relationship and your shed collection! The Hitch team is sending all our love! Happy 7 married months!
