What We Love About This Volga, SD Wedding Venue (From a Wedding Planner’s Perspective)

The event hall is ready for a crowd. Your wedding reception can host 400 guests on brand-new flooring, with a stage at the back of the room — which means your band, your DJ has a home. Tables and chairs are included: 12 rounds, 24 squares, 12 eight-foot wood rectangles, five 6-foot and 8-foot plastic tables, and two 12-foot wood tables. Those 12-footers and the square tables open up some really pretty layout options.

When you book your wedding or event day at Midway, access runs 7 a.m. to 2 a.m., with service until 2 a.m.

They have pricing for one day, two days, and three days (ask us or Midway about pricing!) Use Friday for setup (Hitch Studio will be decorating for you, right?!) and your rehearsal dinner, Saturday for the wedding, and Sunday for a brunch and a slow goodbye.

There’s a full bar on-site with a liquor license. They’ll do specialty drinks, they have a slushy machine and they grow their own mint for mojitos. Ask about a keg and event pricing. There’s also an ATM on-site, they take cards, and there’s video lottery for the guests who want a little side quest.

It’s a wedding venue with lodging on-site. There are 12 fully working campsites (with electrical) with another 12 in development, plus two bedrooms and a bridal and groom suite upstairs above the reception space. Your inner circle can wake up on-site the morning of the wedding, and your out-of-town guests don’t have to hunt down a hotel. Add the shuttle bus — $250 plus $100/hour for pickup and drop-off — and you’ve solved the safe-ride question for everyone else.

There are river views, room to spread out, and photo ops in every direction, which makes this a beautiful spot for an outdoor wedding ceremony. It’s pet friendly (leashed), you can shoot skeet, and for your send-off you have real options: sparklers, smoke, confetti cannons, and even fireworks with county approval. Yes, we know that’s a rare but awesome list!

A Few Things to Plan For

Tables and chairs are included, but setup and teardown are yours — chairs go back on pallets when you’re done. Midway handles the actual cleaning, which is a lovely thing to hand off, and you can pay them or Hitch Studio to set up if you’d rather not spend your Friday moving furniture. You’ll also bring your own decorations, flowers, and balloons .

This is where we come in! Hitch Studio’s wedding planning services can handle the table and chair setup and take down for both your ceremony and reception, plus linens, decor, head table backdrops and more. Centerpiece table decor is free when you work with us. See more in our Welcome Kit.
