It means a lot to us as a small business to give back to our community. I wrote a blog about it last year too. We feel so blessed to live in a community where there are so many ways to give our time, talent and donations. We added them all up and each year, we’ve volunteered over 150 hours of our time to various groups and organizations throughout Brookings, South Dakota!
To make it easier for us and the organizations asking, we started an online form for donation requests! There are so many worthy organizations, and we’d love to give to each and every one of them. Unfortunately, our calendars and bank account don’t allow for that. But if your organization involves females, children, local entrepreneurs, or promoting creativity/art education, then we’ll give your request the most consideration!
Among the organizations we like to donate our event decorating services to is South Dakota State University, the college where Carrie, Renee, and almost all of our employees have graduated from. One event in particular lights up our calendar: the SDSU Athletic Auction.
Here are some photos from Saturday’s event — themed Great Gatsby with navy, gold, sparkle, Art Deco, 1920s, and garden party influences. After three years of decorating at this event, we enjoy it more every year.
