Our business model might be a unique one. Carrie Kuhl and I (Renee Halgerson) started Hitch Studio together, specializing in wedding invitations, wedding planning, graphic design, logo + website design, and a brick & mortar retail store. It’s so diverse, we believe there needs to be two of us! The idea of this business was born over beers — and has continued to grow over the last 18 months (along with our occasional beer drinking). We speak to a lot of groups and SDSU classes about what motivates us, what made us want to start this business, and what the hardest thing about it is. We answer with honesty and passion and enjoy spreading our story. We love being a part of the Brookings community and each time we get interviewed or asked to speak, our story has evolved into something bigger.
If you read this series of interviews and publications Hitch has been featured in, you’ll get a little glimpse of what truly fuels Hitch Studio. Here is a list of places we can be found in the press:
1. Dainty Obsessions Magazine (wedding etiquette interview)
2. 605 Magazine (business interview)
3. Brookings Register (business interview)
4. Stationery Trends Magazine (stationery feature)
5. Dainty Obsessions Magazine (photo shoot)
6. OTA (our most recent business interview!)
