Minnesota Barn Wedding | Hitch Studio

Who knew that as you wind through the gentle curves near Shafer, Minnesota that you would come upon a beautiful and majestic barn nestled in the breathtaking autumn colored trees and foliage. The stunning Bloom Lake Barn venue was the site of the gorgeous fall wedding for Hannah Sernett and Holand Fenstermacher on October 15, 2020.

Picture this enormous wooden barn that contains original vaulted ceilings, salvaged gothic church windows, a gorgeous chandelier, and cafe lighting. Hand built wooden harvest tables and chairs complement the rustic beauty of the venue. The lower level of the barn is another unique space containing weathered beams and high top tables built from the milking stanchions. A perfect wedding haven for Hannah and Holand!

Hitch Studio from Brookings, SD traveled to Shafer, MN to make this day a perfect celebration for Hannah and Holand and their family and friends. After doing the wedding planning and styling for the sister of the groom last year in Brookings, South Dakota, this wedding was equally as beautiful and breathtaking.

“We saw what a great job Renee and her team had done with other weddings and knew we wanted her. We did not have to worry about a thing on our big day. Renee and her team coordinated everything. Even though the weather was a bit chilly, the outdoor ceremony held in a wooded clearing near the barn was picturesque and unforgettable. The seating area was lined with white antique church pews with wooden sign décor and fresh flowers tucked at the entrance of each row. At front and center stood a large wooden cross draped with fresh ivory flowers and greenery — a sure focal point for this unique ceremony. There was also a beautiful unity table to complete this vow renewal.

What made decorating for this wedding so special and amazing for the Hitch group? The décor theme of fresh ivory flowers and white roses, eucalyptus garlands, and loose greenery combined with the rustic and woodsy feel of this country barn was absolutely gorgeous (and so much fun!). From loose greenery with fresh flowers tucked throughout to fresh flower filled pine-wooden boxes and geometric silver stands, to the candles and pop of icy dusty blue runners, the theme was carried out making each table exceptionally beautiful. Antlers intermingled with the décor added an extra country touch.

Hitch staff silhouetted the head table with a beautiful white sequin and swooped backdrop lined with bistro lights which added just the right flare of elegance. Geometric mercury glass vases, arranged between the eucalyptus garlands, held the live-flower bouquets for each bridesmaid’s bouquet giving the head table an extra accent.

The two-tiered wedding cake, placed on a wooden tree base, was simple, yet elegantly decorated with ivory flowers and greenery. It looked lovely on the cream-colored vintage bureau available in the barn.

The guest book table, nestled right inside the roller barn doors, was decorated with greenery and live ivory flowers and served several purposes. The in memory bouquet was beautifully designed by Flowers with Flair in Scandia MN and was surrounded with greenery and family photographs. Lastly, what would a pandemic wedding be without hilarious face masks for the guests?

Hitch staff totally enjoyed providing the décor for this wedding with the fresh-flower beauty and country style twist making this one of the most gorgeous weddings they have styled. Parents, family and friends were so easy to work with and that makes going above and beyond all the more delightful!

“Well goodness gracious, I don’t even know where to begin with this. My (now hubby) and I met Renee at his sisters wedding – she was her wedding planner. We noticed all that Renee did for her and quickly realized the quality of services she provided to help the day go smooth. I have never in my entire life expected for my wedding to go as smooth as it did. The whole day I kept asking myself “when is something going to go wrong?” and surprise, surprise, it never did BECAUSE Renee and her team were SO on top of everything!
