Shelby & Carter’s Chic Black & White Wedding at Schade Vineyard & Winery

When you picture the perfect South Dakota vineyard wedding, Shelby Dockter and Carter Pederson’s day at Schade Vineyard & Winery in Volga, SD is exactly what comes to mind! One of our favorite parts of their wedding day were all the personal touches — like full-size engagement photos of the couple throughout the tent, very special cake plates made (so CUTE!), a custom-made bartop guest book , they watered a unity tree, “Doug’s Desserts” (their cat!) was near their bundtini and cheesecake table, AND they had sparklers at sunset. We adored everything they chose to incorporate on their wedding day!

Shelby’s organization and attention to detail set the tone for the entire day. She was a wedding planner’s dream to work with! Every moment was beautifully thought out, from the welcome sign that greeted guests to the custom-printed 24×36 portraits displayed on sleek black sign racks. Guests could enjoy a complimentary glass of champagne the moment they arrived, setting the celebratory mood right from the start.

Shelby and Carter booked Hitch Studio’s 3 Carat package, which means we took care of all the decorating and the timeline of the day to and stayed from beginning to end to make sure everything ran smoothly. Hitch decorated in their black and white chic colors — with a touch of disco ball sparkle. We included our artificial white roses, babies breath, and candles, and glass details — all complimentary. We mixed tall centerpieces with a black and white statement-piece dance floor and hung greenery over their head table!! Are you loving the idea of a black and white wedding? The couple’s eight fresh ceremony arrangements weren’t just beautiful for the “I dos.” Hitch Studio seamlessly repurposed them into the reception space, creating a cohesive floral photo backdrop along an entire wall of the tent! The flowers connected multiple elements: hanging photos, a photo booth backdrop, cocktail tables, signage, and the champagne display. We highly recommend anchoring together your statement pieces into one area that will be so memorable for your guests!

One of the smartest decisions Shelby and Carter made? Opting for Hitch Studio’s Walk-Away Teardown Package. At the end of the night, they hopped on the bus with their guests, headed downtown to continue celebrating, and didn’t have to worry about a single personal item. Hitch Studio packed everything up and stored it safely—because the only thing couples should be carrying at the end of their wedding night is joy.
