Maggie and Andy are a wonderful couple with wonderful taste in wedding colors! They were a pleasure to work with — laid back and fun. What started as a wedding in a tent, ended happily ever after indoors at the Swiftel Center in Brookings, SD, with beautiful bistro lights, a grand head table, and a room full of people celebrating their marriage!
One of our favorite things as wedding planners is when we can help bring elements of the couple into the celebration. Like when a guest walks into the reception and says “This is so THEM.” From using Maggie’s parents’ ring bearer pillow to providing their very own Fremark beef for the prime rib at dinner. So, we must start the gushing with their stationery set! We designed their save the dates, invitations, and programs to match their coral pink and aqua color scheme.
The celebrating began Friday, May 22 at their rehearsal dinner. Hitch decorated Cottonwood Bistro for the 40 guests who attended. We incorporated gold mercury glass, mason jars, candles, and ivory hydrangea. We also hung a special banner above their “head table”.
The big day, May 23, 2015, started with mimosas, donuts and fresh fruit at the hair salon. What a great group of girls to get married with! Hitch took that extra breakfast food and brought sandwiches and waters to the church for them to get dressed. While they were all getting beautified, we prepped the church for their ceremony! We put out their unity cord ceremony (Etsy), programs in baskets (Hitch), flowers along the aisle (by House of Green) and got the flower girl back in her dress and walking down the aisle. 😉
After the ceremony, we gathered the remaining bubbles from the send-off as Maggie and Andy headed off in the old blue truck complete with cans tied behind it. We used each of the aisle bouquets at the reception to get the most use out of all of Maggie’s beautiful flowers. People arrived to find the Swiftel Center turned into a romantic, charming dinner and dance. The aqua, blush pink, coral, burlap, wood, and babies breath centerpieces were as sweet as the couple.
Hitch likes to give credit where credit is due…and we think Maggie’s wedding professionals were outstanding. The cake was by Anna, The Cake Lady in Sioux Falls, photography by 283 Photography, the cute bottles and head table curtains were rented from Party Depot in Brookings, SD, the DJ/music/party/dance lessons came from Sieff Style, and flowers were by Sarah at House of Green. Amazing venue — Swiftel Center Daktronics Room.
Best wishes for Andy and Maggie! They were off for their honeymoon the next day. We wish them a lifetime of love and happiness!
