Hello all! My name is Taylor Roehr (soon to be Livingston) and I am excited to be the newest member of the Hitch Studio team, taking on the role as Retail Manager/Graphic Designer/Event Stylist. Keep reading and I’ll share my journey about what led me to this amazing opportunity!
I grew up in Britton, South Dakota, a small town of about 1,300 people in the northeast corner of the state. After graduating from Britton-Hecla High, I became a Jackrabbit at South Dakota State University, put my love for creativity to good use and studied graphic design and advertising. Four and a half wonderful years later, I finally decided it was time for me to graduate and I began my full-time career at the Brookings Area Chamber of Commerce as the Marketing & Promotions Coordinator. I worked there for three years, promoting Chamber businesses, designing a variety of materials and creating connections across the Brookings community.
In July 2016, my boyfriend (now fiancé) accepted a great job opportunity in Kansas City, Missouri. Ready for a new adventure, I packed my bags, became a Missourian and worked as a creative coordinator at the Lee’s Summit Chamber of Commerce. We enjoyed a lot of activities during our time in Kansas City. From consuming too much barbecue (If you ever find yourself in KC you MUST go to Joe’s Barbecue) and frequent trips to the Boulevard Brewery, to museum visits, adventures to Worlds of Fun, and Royals games at Kauffman Stadium, we kept very busy!
However, with South Dakota being home we couldn’t stay away long! My fiancé accepted a new position within his company and we returned to Brookings, which led me to find this position at Hitch Studio. I stopped by the store searching for a wedding card (check out our fun gift items) and walked out with an amazing job opportunity and I couldn’t be more excited!
When I am not on the clock, I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I’m also a new puppy parent to a cute golden doodle, Moby. At only 8 months he’s a whopping 60 pounds of love and a lot of fun! Most days you’ll find me outdoors frisbee golfing, biking or riding moped. But, I also enjoy curling up on the couch and watching reruns of my Netflix favorites.
I’ve always had a passion for creativity, design and working with others so I am blessed to have this opportunity with Hitch where I’ll get to put those passions to work. I look forward to working with the businesses and people in the Brookings area again and furthering my career by learning from Carrie and Renee. You may even find me coordinating a wedding someday! I hope you stop by and visit me and the other staff soon!
Dear Taylor,
Christine Stewart-Nunez suggested I contact you about designing a cover for a book I’m preparing to publish. Can we visit about the project either by email or phone? Thanks. Mary Haug
