Have you wanted to learn more about the faces behind Hitch Studio?
Let’s start with Lyric Gruenhagen!
Lyric is a 2021 SDSU graduate with a degree in Hospitality Management.
Starting at Hitch in May of 2019, Lyric began her Hitch career as a wedding associate. She helped decorate weddings, tear down at the end of the night, and cover many details in between. She was a consistent behind-the-scenes packer of the wedding decorations and driver of the Hitch van. After a wave of growth near the end of 2020, Renee decided to add another certified planner to the team. Upon completing her wedding planner certification in December of 2020, Lyric dove right into training alongside Renee.
Hitch’s unique partnership with Schade Vineyard and Winery left a gap in the team’s needs, creating the perfect role for her to fill. With her experience working at the Dakotah Bank Center (formerly the Swiftel Center), Lyric was a great fit for this role! Her venue expertise was well utilized with her new venue manager duties.
In her 4 years of working at Hitch, Lyric has been involved in over 100 weddings and has planned or coordinated 54 of them! Check out some of these photos of her in action and hanging out with the Hitch team!
One of her favorite parts about the venue side of her job, “is for sure the incredible staff at Schade. The owners, the sales team, and the bartending staff are organized, driven, and personable individuals.” She said there, “couldn’t be better partners at the Winery for these couples and Hitch to work with.”
One of her favorite parts about the wedding planning side of her job, “would have to be the gracious and fun couples that we have right here in South Dakota. Their smiles and hugs are the most rewarding part of my job.”
LET’S GET PERSONAL!
Outside of work, Lyric loves sitting on the beach with any Historical Fiction book. She is also super competitive when it comes to board games like Catan, Wingspan, or Ticket to Ride.
Many people love to travel, and she is sure one of them! She loves visiting her younger sister in Chicago. They love going to plays, spending time exploring the city, and eating at every place they can.

A piece of advice she would love to leave with you is: “Cut out time on your wedding day to truly be present with your fiance. There have been so many instances where couples will tell me, ‘It went by so fast! I wish we could have spend more time remembering what the day was for – US!’ Remember why you are there that day, and soak up all the love you feel for each other. It goes by too fast!”
