Venue History
The Riverview Barn is owed by Bryan and Pam Hedman. After having four of their own children get married, the couple decided to open the venue. Working with them will make you feel right at home! They are the most genuine and warm-hearted people that want the best for you and your wedding day. Riverview Barn has been open since August of 2021. The barn is located on the east side of Sioux Falls on Highway 42. It has a picturesque view which overlooks the Big Sioux River, cornfields and an old railroad trestle.
Size and Capacity
Riverview Barn holds up to 320 guests. The main space has floor to ceiling windows which frame the rural setting. The wood beams juxtapose with the chandelier and natural light create perfect elegance. The bar, kitchen and guest restrooms are easy to spot as you enter.
The main floor features a groom’s den with the necessities of seating, hooks, tv, windows with a cozy and rustic charm for the guys to hangout in the morning of the wedding day. A wood staircase with modern finishings leads to the loft and the bridal suite. The bridal suite is spacious with gorgeous furnishings, mirrors, outlets and seating with a neutral and chic atmosphere with an attached restroom. The wonderful thing about Riverview is that you can host both ceremony and reception at the same venue! Guests can experience the summer weather while sitting outside for the ceremony, then walk right inside for social hour!
Cost
The Riverview Barn has a flat rate fee. This includes the equipment; round and rectangular tables, wooden farm tables, cross-back wooden chairs, whiskey barrels, cocktail tables, wooden arch and white chairs for outdoor ceremonies. The venue staff handles all the setup and teardown of equipment along with cleaning the venue so the only thing you have to do is decorate (or hire Hitch Studio to do that for you!)
Catering + Alcohol Policy
The bar has a great selection of beers, wines, seltzers, ciders and champagne. Hard alcohol is not available at the venue however, delicious malt-based cocktails and shots are! All alcohol must be purchased through the venue. Bartenders and a venue manager also come with the flat rate fee.
Riverview Barn has an open catering policy which means the couple may pick any caterer who is licensed and insured. There is a kitchen onsite that catering staff has access too! Snacks and Desserts may be brought in by the couples
Location and Parking
Riverview is on the East side of Sioux Falls overlooking the Sioux River! Located off a paved road with 105 parking paved spots. Several hotels are located within 5 miles of the barn.

- Hanging Bistro Lighting for the couples to use. The added lighting looks brilliant looking in from the patio doors with the large crystal chandeliers.
- New patio doors for easy access to the concrete patio.
