If there are two wedding colors that are trending in 2018, they’re definitely burgundy and dusty purple. Brides are mostly pairing burgundy with blush pink, gold and navy. I put this vision board together for a bride (inspired by Pinterest), and she loved it! We call it burgundy, but marsala, deep cranberry, wine, dark red, and oxblood are all variations of this hue too. And you can count on it — we know the difference when you show us your dress swatches!
When you’re a Hitch bride (something we never get tired of hearing!), part of the services we provide to you is a centerpiece showcase. It’s a one-on-one meeting with you as we display many options for your wedding reception centerpieces! We show you tall options, short options, fresh floral options, simple options, and everything in between. Whatever you’re most drawn to is what we focus on! We’ll choose your favorite 3-6 centerpieces (sometimes more!) and replicate those favorites on your reception tables. If you and your family have already purchased some wedding decor items, no worries. We work those into the tablescapes as well! During this fun meeting, we also choose your head table backdrop and special details for your cake table, guest book table, ceremony aisle, and more.
Here are some photos we’ve taken from some burgundy-inspired centerpiece showcases lately! Another great thing about burgundy is that it can be paired with a rustic, glam, or classic look.
Notice that we created looks that ranged from navy sequin to wood runners with our main burgundy color. One of our favorite weddings that showcased burgundy, was Danielle + Jordan in February, 2018! Their wintery version of a burgundy wedding was so stunning inside the Swiftel Center in Brookings, SD. They used pine garland for a frosted feel and all kinds of greenery, deer antlers, pheasant feathers, and gold sequin to complete their look! Check out their “In Memory” table, head table, reception centerpieces, grand entrance, dessert tables, and unity ceremony. Congratulations again, Danielle and Jordan! Your wedding was stunning! Hitch Studio was their wedding stylist, wedding planner, and wedding coordinator all rolled into one. Plus, Danielle is near and dear to our hearts, so her day was EXTRA special for us!

We did mention TWO trending wedding colors for 2018 and the other is dusty purple. Hitch Studio has more than five weddings this year with dusty purple as their main wedding color! Brides are pairing dusty purple (or wisteria, as some dress swatches are calling it) with other pastel colors (like blush pink), gray, ivory, champagne, and soft hues. Here are some ways we’ve showcased dusty purple, and some weddings we have styled:
