“Can we have a margarita blender as our unity ceremony!?”
That was the excitement level of Josh after our first meeting at Hitch Studio!
Kalli and Josh planned their outdoor ceremony at Sylvan Green and their beautiful reception at Club71 with Hitch Studio. They wanted their children involved since this would be a blending of families and Hitch Studio LOVED helping them along the way.
Kalli and Josh’s wedding colors were dusty purple, dusty blue, and dusty rose with accents of wood, rustic elements and babies breath. (She even surprised Josh with a crown of babies breath in her hair. And he surprised her by wearing Busch Light tennis shoes and a custom-fit jacket that he named “The Kalli”. They are so madly in love, it’s adorable.)
Hitch Studio coordinated the set up of chairs in the lawn of Sylvan Green on the South Dakota State University campus and the birch altar in front. We decorated it with flowers and their unity ceremony. (Which was a very special candle instead of a margarita machine. Sorry, Josh! He wanted to pour the tequila while Kalli poured the margarita mix into the blender.)
I had the honor of being their officiant. I wrote a set of vows just for them and as they walked out of the Campanile with their wedding party, the bells chimed, and all was right with the world. If you ever want to see two people so in love, it’s Kalli + Josh.
The couple then greeted each guest at the Club71 Room at the SDSU football stadium, in Brookings, South Dakota, for their reception with fun appetizer stations throughout the room. Hitch Studio decorated their reception with what Kalli had chosen in her centerpiece showcase months before. Their head table was simple and beautiful with greenery and sheers. Their cupcakes were mounded high — and so were the spirits of EVERYONE THERE.
