It was planned for two days after St. Patrick’s Day. (Naturally.) Her last name was McCarty and the Irish flag was hung proud. There was green and gold everywhere. And plenty of beer and fun had by all. Betsy, the bride even wore her grandmother’s dress (as did her mother). It’s a third-generation beautiful lace gown. There was so much family and tradition love!
Betsy and Jason got married in the Sioux Falls Cathedral (stunning) and had their reception at the Multi-Cultural Center downtown Sioux Falls. The venue has a huge stage, two levels of seating, and tons of lobby space for a receiving line. They had a huge family trunk for their gifts, shamrock decorations hanging from the cupcake table, cake table, and even fresh flowers tucked in by the ice sculpture. Watching these two families celebrate together was pure joy. Let’s take a look at some of their other stunning details.
Centerpieces
We used greenery, gold chargers, flameless candles, lanterns, wood boxes and a personal collection from the family to fill each table.
Head Table and Whole Room
The family build a head table accent piece out of pallets, and a custom wreath — and Hitch decorated with strands of bistro lights to make the head table the focal point of the entire room! Here are some highlights of the head table, including chargers, candles lining the entire front ledge, green and gold banners, and a stunning cake table.
The Multi-Cultural Center also hung the German and Irish flags together at the front of the room to unite both families. It was a beautiful space for a wedding reception!
Social Media
The couple allowed guests to tag them, using their social media hashtag! How cute.
Cake Table, Gift Table and Ice Sculpture
We make sure none of these details go unnoticed and un-decorated. These are all such great additions to a personal reception!
