Such classic, beautiful colors for a wedding — navy and burgundy.
If you’re considering these colors for your wedding, Hitch Studio will show you two ways to decorate! One wedding we recently decorated for chose a rustic, country wedding theme and the other wedding chose a glamorous, sparkly wedding theme — both using navy blue and maroon for their wedding colors! What’s your favorite? Or choose a little from both!
Amanda and Daniel: Navy blue and burgundy rustic style wedding
This style fit them perfectly. Whiskey barrels, wheat, and wood slabs — all in a barn wedding! Amanda and Daniel had an intimate ceremony in the barn loft at Good Roots Farm & Gardens in Brookings, South Dakota. It was a beautiful ceremony with fresh babies breath down the aisle, an “unplugged ceremony” sign to remind guests of no cell phones, and a very sentimental “In Memory” table full of memories from Amanda’s father who passed away. Although he’s in heaven, he was definitely remembered and smiled while looking down on October 6, 2018. There were so many ways the couple honored him.
After the ceremony, guests came down from the barn loft and enjoyed donuts, bottled water in vintage wash basins, and apple cider on that chilly October day. It was perfect! An extended social hour gave Amanda and Daniel plenty of time to socialize and do a more informal “receiving line” and take more photos, since they didn’t see each other until walking down the aisle. How sweet!
The reception and dinner was held at the Swiftel Arena in Brookings, SD and had plenty of room for people to move around and socialize — a main priority for Amanda. We decorated with antlers, wood, lanterns, and artificial flowers and candles — all from Hitch Studio’s inventory of wedding decorations! When you hire Hitch Studio for our 1-carat, 2-carat, or 3-carat level of service, not only do you get access to our entire decor collection for FREE, you get our amazing wedding-planning-certified staff members making sure every detail of your wedding day goes smoothly. So, why was 3-carat a good fit for Amanda and Daniel? Let’s take a look at what each level consists of:
Hitch Studio 1-Carat Level of Service: Wedding Styling
You choose and book any wedding vendors (cake, DJ, venue, flowers, etc.), and we decorate your reception venue and take it all down at the end of the evening and return any rentals on Monday morning so you (and your friends and family!) won’t have to worry about a thing.
Hitch Studio 2-Carat Level of Service: Wedding Coordinating
You choose and book any wedding vendors (cake, DJ, venue, flowers, etc.), and we decorate your reception venue AND ceremony and take it all down at the end of the evening. We help make sure you have a smooth processional down the aisle and transport your programs, unity ceremony, In Memory flowers, and any decor to the reception so it magically appears before any guests arrive at the reception. We’ve got you covered on anything decoration-related for the reception AND ceremony. This level comes with a fan favorite: a personalized centerpiece showcase just for you and your wedding colors! See all the centerpiece options we set up for you and choose your favorites — or all of them! Including linen choices, napkins, head table backdrop and all. See your vision come to life with Level 2.
Hitch Studio 3-Carat Level of Service: Wedding Planning
We do everything from Levels 1 and 2 above, AND help you book any vendors you need (saving you tons of time), contact each of your vendors before your wedding and confirm all the details, make you a wedding day timeline, and we’re there for EVERY part of your wedding day. We help coordinate schedules, transportation, wrangle up any missing ushers for photos, set up chairs and tables, put out any desserts for the reception, keep snacks refilled, take the bridesmaids’ purses and bouquets and have them waiting at each spot at the head table before the grand entrance into dinner, help with seating chart seat assignments, greet guests, take coats, help lock away gifts and cards as the dance starts, etc. We’re there for anything you may need on your wedding day!
Back to our original question — Why was 3-carat a good fit for Amanda and Daniel?
The couple had some really fun details and activities as a part of their wedding. They played “family feud/wedding party feud” trivia during the reception, so Hitch helped to set up the buzzers and tables for that. They served drinks in honor of her father, so Hitch helped coordinate the timing of that photo-worthy family event. We helped set up the tables for the social hour in the barn, we helped cue the music for the string quartet as the wedding party walked up the stairs to the barn loft, we put out and cleared all the donuts and apple cider during social hour, we transported all of her father’s In Memory table memorabilia to the reception, we made sure the groom didn’t see the bride before the ceremony, we made a timeline for the wedding party AND the wedding vendors so everyone knew what was happening when. We brought the fresh babies breath flowers from the ceremony to the reception so we could use them again! We set up a special arbor outside the reception to welcome people in, and we even coordinated the timing of a piñata during the reception for the kids! When your wedding is that personal and that detailed, Hitch Studio is happy to coordinate all the details. That’s what Level 3 is for.

Have we mentioned that we also design wedding invitations and programs? Amanda wanted burgundy pockets and some custom information, so we designed her the perfect wedding invitations! And of course, matching (FUN!) programs as well. Take a look (and let us know if you’d like us to design something similar for you.)
Jena and Aaron: Navy blue and burgundy glamorous wedding style
Jena and Aaron had some sparkle and glam and added lots of gold to their navy and burgundy wedding style! They chose to get married at the same venue as the reception, so a 2-Carat Level from Hitch Studio was the perfect fit for them. We helped Jena, Aaron, all the bridesmaids and groomsmen, and her eight honorary bridesmaids down the aisle smoothly, all while giving cues to the live musician at the front. Ceremony coordinating is exactly what they needed!
Hitch Studio also put out their mini cupcakes, decorated their ceremony and reception, put together the beautiful backdrops behind both the head table and the ceremony altar. We just loved working with Jena and Aaron for their wedding day!
